This is a song about love gone bad, and what that feels like.It was one of those tunes that came together very quickly for the band. Mark walked into the Recording Studio during the Spring 2007 AVALANCHE Sessions with this one almost in this final form. We worked out some arrangement details...rehearsed and recorded this one...all in a couple of days time. This one has a lot of Mark Easton's songwriting stamp on it...especially in the lyrics and vocals...which are all Mark. It's a song that grew on us...and shows the "straight ahead rock" side of the band.
VERSE 1
You treat me like a child...it's like I'm on trial...
When you play these games with me....
I...don't know how to take the threat...
Don't know where to place my bet...
I think I'm gonna lose...eventually.
I'm up against the wall
Thought I had it all
Honey now I know...NOTHING'S free.
CHORUS
Love.....(This ain't love)....This ain't love to me
(Repeat three times)
This ain't love...this ain't love* (2nd and 3rd CHORUS)*
Honey...this ain't love...this ain't love to me.
VERSE 2
I try to run but there's no place to hide
Your door is always open wide...
Calling me to come...come inside
REPEAT FULL CHORUS*
